Pairc Tailteann preparations continue ahead of Galway game

Work has started on the construction of a permanent ticketing booth at the Brews Hill end of Pairc Tailteann as the Meath Co Board continue to prepare for Sunday's NFL Div 2 encounter with Galway.

Spectators going to the game will be able to buy tickets from the booth before proceeding through one of the turnstiles at that end of the ground.

According to Meath Co Board PRO Martin O’Halloran the construction of the booth is part of a drive by the Co Board to make it “easier and more efficient” for spectators to get into the ground.

The Co Board were criticised for the crowd congestion that developed outside Pairc Tailteann at the Commons Road end before the O’Byrne Cup semi-final between Meath and DCU two weeks ago.

The congestion was attributed to mechanical problems that prevented ticketing machines from working properly.

The Co Board promised that “every measure” would be taken to rectify the situation for future games.

A big crowd is expected to show up for the Galway game as Meath mark their return to Div 2. The gates at both the Brews Hill and the Commons Road ends will be open for the eagerly awaited contest.

Supporters are reminded that they can save five euro on the price of admission by buying tickets ahead of the game at designated outlets including SuperValue, Centra and Jacksie Kiernan’s Shop in Navan.
