Royals heading to Carton House

Meath footballers will continue their preparations for Sunday’s O’Byrne Cup clash with DCU - and their NFL campaign - with a spell at the exclusive Carton House later this week.

Used regularly by the Irish rugby squad Carton House possesses top class facilities including a number of manicured pitches.

When not sharpening their football skills the Meath footballers may or may not have an opportunity to hone their golfing talents on one of the two golf courses at the venue which is located near Maynooth.

Once the seat of the Earls of Kildare and the Dukes of Leinster, Carton House has hosted the Irish Open on a number of occasions and it’s the home of the Golfing Union of Ireland, one of the oldest golfing bodies in the world.

Among the teams who have used the facilities at the Kildare venue include Real Madrid, Brazil, Newcastle Utd, Wolves, Bermingham City and Shamrock Rovers.

Meath kick-start their NFL Div 2 campaign with a game against Galway on Sunday 2nd February.
