Gaeil Colmcille in IFC final

The IFC final will be between Gaeil Colmcille and Clann na nGael.

This evening Gaeil Colmcille ensured their place in the showdown when they defeated Castletown 2-13 to 0-15 in the second semi-final at Pairc Tailteann.

The Castletown cause took an early blow when Francis Hoey was sent off after just three minutes.

Goals from Seamus Mattimoe and Martin Barrett helped Gaeil Colmcille to go in at the break with a comfortable 2-8 to 0-5 interval advantage. The pacy Gaeil Colmcille forwards such as Mattimoe, Barrett and Danny McGovern caused havoc all evening.

Gaeil Colmcille manager Jody Devine made a series of substitutions in the second-half and Castletown came more into the game rattling off a series of scores with Kevin Ross their top scorer with three points.

However despite their strong finish Castletown couldn't save themselves from defeat.
