Under the glare of the bright Pairc Tailteann lights Navan O'Mahonys proved too strong for Blackhall Gaels in the Junior C FC final tonight.
Ahead for most of the way O'Mayonys were still in front, 1-14 to 1-11, when the final whistle sounded.
The Brews Hill side led, 1-8 to 1-6 at the interval, their goal scored after just seven minutes when Barry McEvoy was alert to fire home.
The Blackhall defence should have cleared the danger before McEvoy netted and the same applied to the O'Mahonys backline when Martin Whelan fired home for the Gaels soon after.
Robbie Keelaghan was in fine scoring form for O'Mahonys firing over eight points over the hour, five from frees.
Others to make significant contributions for the winners included Dylan Regan and Cormac McEntaggert while Niall Kelly was outstanding for the disappointed Gaels.
