Stroll in the Pairc for O'Mahonys

It was Navan O'Mahonys all the way as they racked up a 4-21 to 1-6 victory over Walterstown in the SFC at Pairc Tailteann this evening.

The game was as good as over at the interval when O'Mahonys led 3-9 to 0-4 with their three goals scored in as many minutes from Jake Regan, David Bray and Shane Gillespie.

A further goal from Stephen Bray in the second-half inflicted further pain on a depleted Walterstown side who had Christy Reynolds red carded on 42 minutes.

One bright spot for the Blacks was a well-taken goal by Alban Crosbie on 50 minutes but otherwise there was little for them to be cheerful about.

In the curtain-raiser to a double header at the Brews Hill venue Gaeil Colmcille marked their progression to the knock-out phase of the IFC with a 1-11 to 2-4 victory over Donaghmore/Ashbourne.

Brian Hanlon netted for Gaeil Colmcille who led 1-6 to 1-3 at the interval while Declan Mulvey and Dylan Brady found the target for Donaghmore/Ashbourne.
