Final heartbreak for Loreto

Loreto Navan’s bid for Girls All-Ireland Schools Junior C FC glory ended in final heartbreak at Nowlan Park today when they were edged out by Christ the King, Cork by 4-4 to 4-8.

The Navan school led by 2-2 to 2-1 at the break, but fell behind early in the second-half when Christ the King bagged a third goal and moved into the lead.

Playing with the wind at their backs Loreto should have pushed on and won, but the Cork side grabbed goals at crucial times to inflicted more All-Ireland final heartbreak for Navan schools following Mercy Navan’s All-Ireland loss last weekend.
