Meath hurlers open with a win

Meath players after the NHL Div 2B victory today at Newry

Stephen Clynch's late second-half goal helped Meath to a dramatic 2-16 to 1-18 NHL Div 2B victory over hosts Down at Newry this afternoon.

Clynch's stike drew the sides level for the seventh time with three minutes remaining and completed a fine tally of 1-12 for the Kilmessan man.

Dunderry's Paddy Conneely sent over the winning point for Cillian Farrell's men as the clock ticked into injury-time.
