St Patrick's CS, Navan booked their place in the Leinster Colleges SFC quarter-finals with a tougher than expected 2-11 to 1-7 victory over Moate CS in Páirc Táilteann this afternoon.
The Navan school started well and were boosted by an early goal from Ruairi O Coileain as they led by 1-4 to 0-3 at half-time.
That advantage was stretched to 1-8 to 0-6 at the three-quarters stage, but a superb goal from Moate helped cut the deficit to a point.
With three minutes remaining the outcome hung in the balance as St Pat's led by 1-8 to 1-7. However points from Barry Dardis and Robert Keelaghan were followed by a Keelaghan goal as St Pat's pulled clear to secure the win.
