Minor footballers strike late for final ticket

Two late goals gave Meath a 2-10 to 1-11 All-Ireland MFC semi-final victory over Mayo at Croke Park today.

Meath, who trailed by 0-6 to 1-7 at the interval, out-scored Mayo by 2-4 to 0-4 in the second-half to book a place in the All-Ireland final against either Dublin or Kerry on Sunday 23rd September.

Fiachra Ward converted a late penalty to tie the game at 1-10 apiece and then Meath substitute Patrick Kennelly pounced for the winning goal a minute into second-half injury-time.

Meath wasted at least four first-half goal chances.
