Sensational win for minors

Meath's minor footballers gave the county a major boost with a 2-12 to 1-14 win against Tyrone at Newry.

That was sufficient to earn a place in the All-Ireland MFC semi-final against Mayo (to be confirmed) later this month.

Meath earned the quarter-final shot against the Ulster champions after losing the Leinster decider to Dublin.

The Dublin boys hammered Monaghan in the curtainraiser at Newry in their All-Ireland quarter-final.

Meath were on level terms with Tyrone at half-time 1-7 apiece and snatched a famous victory with a late goal from Stephen Coogan.
