TOURISM: The Central has it all

The Central Bar & Restaurant opened at the end of May 2012 providing Meath with a new concept in entertainment: a multi-purpose venue with six bars, both indoor and outdoor, a unique ‘vintage lounge’, casual restaurant, retro ruby room, a cafe, heated rooftop terrace and Mervyn’s Yard & Bar, all in the heart of Navan town centre.

The Central was awarded the prestigious Bar of the Year Award 2014/15 after two and a half years in business, with the judges commenting that “The Central has created a very high benchmark for other bars to aspire to. This venue is best in class and is unique in Ireland and abroad in its offering.”

Employing over 70 staff, the Central has a ‘buzzy’ atmosphere that visitors say gives them a holiday feel, a sense of getting away from it all for a spell thanks to its unique design, interconnecting rooms, outdoor areas, live music gigs, comedy and New York-style open kitchen restaurant.

The Central has contributed hugely to the local area attracting customers from all over Ireland and beyond. It’s a favourite for visiting tourists in the area and has made a huge impact on the Irish pub scene in less than three years.

 Food excellence is a priority as the team is committed to delivering consistency, seven days and nights a week. expansive food menu offerings from a la carte, early bird, 2-for-1, box suppers, party platters, bbq’s, street food and innovative daytime menus.

Theme nights and events are a regular and popular feature at The Central including Gin & Jazz, Salsa, Whiskey Tasting, Craft Beer Festival, Bollywood, Oktoberfest to name but a few. Monthly comedy with some of Ireland’s biggest names are always popular and the Central has Live Music every night.
