Tara and the motorway
EDITOR, MEATH CHRONICLE
Dear sir - Colr Nick Killian`s recent remarks regarding the protestors working to stop the M3 from destroying the Tara-Skryne Valley demonstrate the unfortunate ignorance that is pervasive among elected officials these days.
The M3 scheme is primarily designed to put more cars on the road in order to generate revenue - if Meath County Council were truly concerned with helping commuters they would adopt the Meath Master Plan.
Even at this late stage it will still save taxpayers money, and protect the priceless Tara-Skryne Valley.
It is laughable that the NRA continues to publicize that any delay in the construction will incur an additional cost of €300,000 per week - this is only true if it continues to blunder down this completely foolish and unsustainable path.
The people of Meath (and the rest of the world) deserve better.
Yours,
Charles Burgess,
