Neil Delamere - The Only Viking in the Village.
'The Only Viking In The Village' (RTE 1, Tuesday 29th November, 10.15pm) - Neil Delamere is going back to his half-Viking, half-Norman roots to find out everything there is to know about our axe-toting ancestors who left such a huge mark on our country.
In this two-part series, the comedian uncovers the fact and fiction behind his hairy ancestors, while trying to see if he has any Viking left in him as he eats, dresses, sails and fights like a Viking.
The culmination of his journey sees Neil put his new-found Viking knowledge to the test by moving in with some modern-day Vikings in Denmark - a group of rather hirsute gentlemen who want nothing more than to impale Delamere on the end of a pointy sword.

'One Direction: A Year In The Making' (ITV2, Wednesday, 9pm) - 2011 has been a remarkable 12 months for One Direction, a group that could never have imagined that, in such a short space of time since appearing on 'The X-Factor', they would be propelled from unknown schoolboys to household names.
Cameras follow Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayn on their debut year, witnessing the hysteria as they launch their debut single in a helicopter, travel with them as they jet across Europe to see the huge impact they are having abroad, and return home with them to reflect on their new lives. This often poignant film shows how five teenagers cope when their world changes around them.

'Prince: A Purple Reign' (BBC 4, Friday, 9pm) - Prince revolutionised the perception of black music in the 1980s with worldwide hits like '1999' and 'Kiss'. He became a global sensation with the Oscar-winning movie 'Purple Rain' in 1984, embarking on an incredible journey of musical self-discovery.
From the psychedelic 'Around The World In A Day' to his masterpiece album 'Sign O' The Times' and experiments with hip-hop and jazz, Prince remains one of most ambitious and prolific songwriters of his generation.
He tested the boundaries of taste and decency with explicit sexual lyrics and stage shows and in the '90s fought for ownership of his name and control of his music. Still in demand as one of the most flamboyant live performers around, he remains a controversial and elusive creative force.

'Raoul Moat Manhunt' (ITV, Monday, 10.35pm) - In July 2010, just four weeks after a gunman murdered 12 people in Cumbria, another deranged killer was on the loose around the woods and lanes of the neighbouring county, Northumbria.
The events that followed gripped a nation and terrified a region. Armed with a sawn-off shotgun, Raoul Moat murdered a man he didn't know, blinded another he'd never met and mutilated the woman he claimed to love. In a bloody final act, he dodged justice by turning his gun on himself.
This documentary covers Moat's spell in prison during which police and his friends believe his state of mind deteriorated and he began planning his attack on an ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, the shooting following his release, and how the incident escalated as the former doorman went on the run, issuing threats to police and the public before the dramatic final stand-off in which he took his own life.

A strange sci-fi type story, complete with great special effects and Cage's permanently furrowed brow.
