The Bogey Boys to headline RockdLough 2012

Jimmy Smyth and The Bogey Boys will RockdLough.

The RockdLough Festival at Ryans of Gormalough on 25th August will feature a host of bands with the line-up including The Bogey Boys, Tomorrows Party, Katy Anna, the traditional Irish band Room for 1 More, Eoin Murray (Freddie Mercury Tribute), The Profile and The Fuzzy Fella.

The return of the Bogey Boys after 30 years in May of this year proved to be a rip-roaring success with large crowds welcoming the rock band back home for two gigs in Navan.

The Swan Lane venue was the setting for an epic night in May of this year with The Bogeys thrilling the local audience with a combination of their own originals from the 1980s, along with classic blues numbers from Wilko Johnson and Grand Slam songs written by bass player Doish and Phil Lynott. Their recent promotional video has proved to be a huge hit amongst rock fans on You Tube while their gig at Tara na Rí in May was equally well received.

Tomorrows Party are a new up and coming three-piece covers band from Drogheda who have played across the north east and Dublin, performing excellent versions of soft rock bands like The Eagles.

Katy Anna Mohan is a great new talent with her Florence and the Machine style voice. Katy has also been compared favourably to a young Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries whose hits she covers. Katy at the young age of 18 is a singer/songwriter from Drogheda and to her credit has written up to 20 songs so far and has recorded her first album recently entiltled 'Chasing the Sun'.

Room For 1 More is a four-piece traditional Irish band from Swords will have the crowd singing clapping and toe tapping along to their melodious tunes. There are four members in the band but as the name suggests, if you are a musician and you come along to one of their gigs with your guitar, banjo, fiddle, you can just jump in and jam along with the lads. Band includes brothers Mick and Barry Maguire, and Gary Nagle Eoin Murray does amazing tributes to Freddie Mercury (Queen) and Andrew Strong (The Commitments).

The Profile is a pop rock foursome from Drogheda. Influences include are Talking Heads, Biffy Clyro, REM, The Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy and Elbow.
