Harrie and the Maniax seek Arthur's Day support
Dunsany-based wins Navan semi-finals

Ann Harrington will take part in the semi-finals of the 'Our Thursdays' event run by Guinness in The Palace on Friday night.
Dunsany-based singer Ann Harrington and her band Harrie and The Maniax are through to the regional finals of the Guinness 'Our Thursdays' which will be held in Belfast on 26th August.
Guinness launched the Our Thursdays showcase to offer emerging talent the opportunity to share the stage with Snow Patrol and other international artists as part of the Arthur's Day line up on 23rd September.
Ann Harrington is taking part in the semi-finals in The Palace in Navan on Thursday night, 5th August, and is seeking support.
Music fans will get to vote, via text, for their favourite act. Each of the four regional showcases will take place on 26th August and at that stage four lucky bands will be selected by music industry experts to perform at the national showcase in Belfast on 2nd September. Music industry experts including members of Snow Patrol will judge the final showcase, choosing the three final acts that will perform on 23rd September at the Arthur's Day celebrations in Galway, Cork and Dublin.
The lucky band selected to play in Dublin will perform alongside Snow Patrol on September 23rd at Hopstore 13, at St James' Gate Brewery in Dublin.
Also, the 100 bands who won their pub showcase event in August will also be part of the Arthur's Day line up in their pub showcase venue on 23rd September.
Ann Harrington is a regular in the monthly ballad session at Dunsany GAA clubhouse on the first Tuesday of each month.
The PW Sessions, featuring Steve Naughton from Tara, is through to the second round in the Guinness Our Thursdays band competition at the popular watering hole, Gibneys of Malahide on Thursday.
Added to that the band have been asked to play a showcase gig for the spectators enjoying the sport at the Ladies Irish Open in Killeen Castle on 7th August in conjunction with Meath Tourism and Failte Ireland.
This is to promote the Navan Samhain Sounds Busking Festival 2010 which will be taking place in numerous venues in Navan on 23rd October.
