Navan Theatre Group's production of Lady Windermere's Fan takes place from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th November in Solstice Arts Centre, Navan.

Lady Windermere's Fan is an elegant costume drama set in 1892, in high society London.

The locally based cast of 21 includes many well known performers and some who are new to Navan audiences. Nigel Ryan well recognized from many past performances plays the honorable Lord Windermere. A new face for Navan audiences is Ruth Collins who performs the demanding role of Lady Windermere in her first stage appearance. We will also see Noelle Tobin again this year playing the very enigmatic and clever Mrs Erlynne. Bláithínn Fitzgerald is the society gossip, the Duchess of Berwick and she is accompanied by her daughter Agatha performed by Katy Leech.

Joanne Donoghue as Lady Plymdale suggests a possible liaison with the mischievous Mr Dumby played by Frank Poole. The flirtatious Lord Darlington is played by Michael Hughes and the provocative role of Mr. Cecil Graham sees the return to Solstice of Jim O Leary.

All these Lords and Ladies will be joined by 'anybody that's somebody' in London society such as Lady Jedburgh and Lady Stutfield which brings Máiréad Murray and Ciara Cassoni to the stage. Mrs Cowper-Cowper and Ms Graham are played by Grainne Brady and Eimear Kearns. Lord and Lady Paisley are performed by Des Lynch and Denise McDermott. Mr Hopper an Australian is played by Damien Cleere and he is joined by Mr Guy Berkley and Sir James Royston played by Robert Clarke and Mick O'Keeffe.

Wherever there is an upstairs there is always a downstairs and Parker the butler is performed by Liam Ó Brádaigh and his assistant Rosalie the maid is played by Ciara O'Reilly.

This is the first Wilde drama for the group and the director Caitríona Heslin looks forward to bringing this superbly stylish production to the Solstice stage.

Tickets are €15/ €13 and are available from Solstice at (046) 909 2300 and www.solsticeartscentre.ie

I went to see Lady Windermere's Fan on Friday Night. I really enjoyed the play. The production, stage and costumes were just brilliant,I could of been in a top London theatre. The actors and actresses were top class, Noelle Tobin was wonderful as Mrs Erlynne. Well done to all. I can't wait to see what they preform next.
