Offer to buy marathon places

Dear sir - I am writing on behalf of Meningitis Research Foundation to ask if there are any ladies in your area who have booked and paid for their places in Flora Women's Mini Marathon and cannot participate in the race. Many ladies who support charities were unlucky this year in gaining places but would still love to run for our charity. They or us, would be interested in buying the places. In addition if there are any ladies out there who have not decided on their beneficiary charity yet, they could run for Meningitis Research Foundation. With their help, we will be able to continue to fund research to prevent meningitis and septicaemia, and to improve survival rates. The foundation also promotes education and awareness, gives support to individuals and families affected by these devastating diseases and operates a freephone helpline on 1800 41 33 44. Meningitis and septicaemia - the blood poisoning form of the disease can affect anyone at any age affecting around 300 people every year in Ireland, with babies and young children most at risk. Sadly, one in ten may die and many others may be left with after effects as severe as brain damage, deafness and amputations.
