Agency seeking Haiti support

Dear sir - Thanks to your readers' support GOAL has been able to mount a relief and rehabilitation effort in the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake. Efforts to deliver aid have been hindered by nightmare logistical conditions and security issues including looting of emergency food deliveries. Once these issues are dealt with competently and the safety of aid workers secured, GOAL will be able to mount a substantial and meaningful aid effort in Haiti. Once again GOAL has been well supported by the Irish people and Irish government and we have sent an emergency team of experienced group of third world operatives who have seen service in some of the most harrowing theatres of operations with GOAL throughout the world. On the ground we are already showing the vulnerable people of Haiti that there are individuals and groups who care about their plight and who will do everything possible to ease their suffering. Our hope is that over the coming weeks we will be able to expand our operation and that many thousands of Haitians will benefit from the generosity of the Irish people and the work of the 'GOALies'. Yours, John O'Shea, GOAL, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
