'Unrealistic' speed limit on R147
06 Jun 2012Dear sir - I wonder how Minister Varadkar is getting along with his promised review of speed limits around the country? Probably the vast majority of motorists, if asked, would have no problem listing numerous examples of anomalies known to them.

The main issue I have in this regard is the unrealistic 60kmh limit on the 2km stretch of the R147 from the Fairyhouse roundabout to the Dunboyne turn-off just before Clonee. (This is "co-incidentally" located along side the M3 where drivers on the R147 can cast an envious glance at drivers on the (tolled) motorway travelling legally at 120kmh).
