Daniel O'Donnell is pictured 'winding up' his longstanding accordion player, Ronnie Kennedy, onstage at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, during his sell-out Trim concert.

Residents of Knightsbridge Nursing Home in Trim were treated to a surprise visit by music legend Daniel O'Donnell last Wednesday evening.

Daniel, who was performing later that night at the local Knightsbrook Hotel, took time out from his busy schedule to pay a special visit to a resident in the retirement complex at Knightsbridge.

Before he left, Daniel dropped into the dining areas to greet many of the residents and also posed for photos with them and with staff. Commenting on the event, Catherine Condon, operations support manager at Knightsbridge, said: "We were all pleasantly surprised to see Daniel in Knightsbridge and the residents were delighted to meet him in person."

The country music legend later played to a capacity audience of 1,100 fans at Knightsbrook Hotel as part of his current tour which has seen the Donegal superstar play dates all over Ireland and the UK and which is continuing next week in the United States and Canada.
