Repairs in Trim have been completed

Repair works completed at Trim water treatment plant

Irish Water and Meath County Council wish to advise customers in Trim town, Rathmolyon, Summerhill and surrounding areas, that crews have successfully carried out repairs at Trim Water Treatment Plant.

Water supply should have returned to customers in Trim town, Dunderry Road, Athboy Road, Bray Hill, Navan Gate, Saint Johns, Knightsbrook, Rock Road, Mornington, Manorlands, Longwood Road and Summerhill. Water supply to customers in Rathmolyon should return later this morning.

However, reservoirs serving Trim and surrounding areas are empty and customers are urged to conserve water in order to allow them to refill.

A spokesperson for Irish Water said: "We are appealing to customers to conserve water by; not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Further information on water conservation is available on our Water Conservation page.

"It may be necessary to place restrictions on the supply tonight should water levels in the reservoirs fail to recover.

"Irish Water and Meath County Council regret the inconvenience caused by this water supply disruption. Irish Water and Meath County Council would like to thank customers for their patience while we carried out urgent repairs at the plant and while work continues to ensure reservoirs replenish.
