As part of European Year of Cultural Heritage, Heritage Week is a chance to get out and about and explore your local heritage and share stories in new ways with new people.
Numerous organisations, local groups and individuals will be hosting events that celebrate the rich heritage of County Meath. Sunday 26th August is Water Heritage Day and Ashbourne Tidy Towns and Broadmeadow River Project, in partnership with the Local Authority Water and Communities Office, will have a family educational fun day at the Playground, Castle Street, Ashbourne.
With nearly 100 events taking place throughout the county including walks, talks, exhibitions, family fun days and living history displays there is literally something for everyone.  Most of these events are free and many are suitable for children.

‘Heritage Week is a fantastic celebration of our wonderful natural and cultural heritage and offers everyone the opportunity to get out, explore and enjoy their local area’ said Loreto Guinan, Heritage Officer, Meath County Council.
