Over €400,000 of contraband cigarettes seized

Revenue officers seized 670,000 cigarettes with an estimated retail value of over €408,000 at a business address in Meath yesterday in an intelligence led operation. Revenue's detector dog 'Elvis' assisted in the operation.  The cigarettes branded 'Jim' have an estimated retail value of over €408,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €299,000.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes and tobacco in the shadow economy.
