Meath man conquers Everest

Ardbraccan man Adrian McNally has conquered Mount Everest, reaching the summit in the early hours of Friday morning.

Adrian became one of less than 50 Irish people to reach the peak, a height of over 29,000 feet. It was an incredible feat, especially considering he only began his preparation a year ago. Under team leader Tim Mosedale, he climbed peaks including Ben  in preparation over the past 12 months.

Adrian who runs transport company McNally Logistics, departed on his adventure on 30th March, and spent some time acclimatising before the climb began in earnest. The weather did hamper the ascent at times causing delays but at 1.15am on Friday morning, he reached the peak.

Adrian's journey across the Himalayas was tracked online by his supporters at home and all last week they were keenly watching his progress with huge excitement when Adrian got to the summit. His team has now successfully completed the descent.

Adrian is a long time member of Bohermeen Athletic Club and chairperson Stephen Ball congratulated Adrian on his achievement on behalf of all club members who had been closely following his journey.
