Works on Bellinter Bridge

Bellinter Bridge closes for six weeks after cavity discovered

Bellinter Bridge has been closed and diversions will be in place for six weeks following the discovery of a significant structural problem last week.

Meath County Council had been carrying out routine works on the bridge, which is in the townlands of Ardsallagh and Bellinter when they discovered a significant cavity under the structure and the road was closed to one lane for a week while design and costing on the work was done.
It has now been closed for the work to be carried out since 12th March and will remain closed for six weeks.
Diversions have been put in place, with information signage erected.
Access for residents and property holders will be facilitated throughout the closure period.
