Get me to the church on time ..... before the white-out

Community spirit was evidence in force in Kilmessan today to ensure the wedding of Eric Horan and Sian Ceris Williams went ahead despite the impending white-out shutdown.
The couple brought a white wedding to another level , but all turned out well in the end following an online appeal for help to clear the churchyard and village access.
Gary Costello of the local Skane Valley Action Group and local Centra  put out an appeal on Facebook saying: Local couple getting married today - help needed to get small bridal party to the church and help needed to clear the church driveway with shovels.”
In no time he reported: “UPDATE - We have people going to Trim, Dunsany & to the house & a gang of men to clear the Church Grounds.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone in our Community for pulling together & for everyone who rang & sent messages offering their assistance.”
The newlyweds were then escorted to their reception in Trim Castle Hotel with the help of Trim Fire Service.
