Car stolen in Ratoath after owner ran the engine to clear frost

With the ongoing frosty mornings, it's tempting to run the kettle of water over he car, turn over the engine and set the heater to blast for 10 minutes to heat up.

However Gardaí are this morning reminding motorists not to leave their cars unattended outside their homes whilst defrosting them.

Another vehicle was stolen this morning whilst the engine was left running and the owner had returned to her house momentarily.

The vehicle taken was a red Hyundai Tucson with a 161 MH registration. The incident occurred at 6.40am this morning at Curragha Road, Ratoath.
