Smith, who is renowned harmonica player, recently signed a deal with Cara Entertainment in New York City to embark on the three-month tour of venues all over the United States.
Before that however Smith and his band will headline a New Year's Eve Rhythm n'Blues Party in Swan Lane Music Venue, Navan on Sunday 31st December. Support at that gig will be provided by Bloe Joe And The Blimbs and Eamon O'Reilly.
Smith is also engaged in producing a stage show aimed at paying tribute to some of the great bluesmen including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf and BB King to name just a few.
"It's a two-hour long show which kicks off in the Theatre Royal, Waterford city on Friday, 20th April 2018 with a view to taking the show nationwide," Smith explained.
Among the musicians who will make up the band that will be touring the US with Smith in the new year is Lincoln Schleifer, who has played regularly with the late Gregg Allman, The Band and Fleetwood Mac.
"Lincoln is the bass player and he has had a very successful career. Also included in the line-up is Chris Carter, legendary blues guitarist, singer, songwriter who has played with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and many others," added Smith.
The Navan bluesman is also working on a new album that will contain original material.
