Retired Navan man wins lottery

The winner of the €78,817 lottery ticket which was sold in Newsround Newesagents in Railway Street, Navan was a local man who had recently retired.
The man collected his winnings at National Lottery Headquarters today, surrounded by his loving family. 
The man won on a ticket he bought in the Newsround newsagents in Railway Street, Navan. Two other punters who had  the same numbers, five and the bonus ball, on the 7th October jackpot draw also won €78,817.
Speaking after getting his cheque the retired winner said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won. I’ve only recently retired so I have been making my plans for retirement and this stroke of luck will make retirement a lot easier. I look forward to sharing this with all of these special people (his wife and family)”.
The other winning tickets were sold at the Kilmartin N6 Service Station on the Dublin Road, Athlone, Co Westmeath and in the Mace store in Ferns in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. 
Larry Kiernan of Newsround said they were delighted to have sold a winner. 
"We have no idea who the winner is or what time the ticket was sold. The National Lottery just rang us on Monday morning to tell us we had sold one of the winning tickets," he said.
