€17k boost for Conor Foley Research Foundation

The Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation - CFNCRF would like wholeheartedly to show our appreciation and express an enormous thank you to our Ambassador, Michelle Regazzoli-Stone - MRS Makeup, for her continued support of the Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation - CFNCRF Make-A-Difference campaign.
Michelle Regazzoli-Stone presented a cheque for €17,000 to The Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation which was 50% of the net proceeds from her Make-A-Difference Master Class, hosted at The Shelbourne Dublin, Renaissance Hotel earlier this year.
The other half of the money raised went to the Childhood Cancer Foundation. This brings the fundraising total for the CFNCRF to date up to a fantastic €80,000, which leaves a balance of €20,000 to achieve the foundation's goal of hitting €100,000 that will go towards funding research into Neuroblastoma in Ireland.
"The Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation – CFNCRF was set up in memory of our son Conor age 17, who unfortunately passed away from this cancer on 3rd July 2015 after a 14-year battle. Children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma only have a 30% chance of survival after five years from the time of diagnosis.
For those children that do survive the current toxic treatments, there are long term and ongoing side effects, as well as the associated high risk of relapse for which the survival rate is only 5%," said Conor's father John Foley
"Our aim is to raise much needed funds for research into Neuroblastoma, by funding research, our objective is to increase the survival rates and create less toxic treatments, because “without research there will never be any progress”
"The Conor Foley Neuroblastoma Cancer Research Foundation - CFNCRF is enormously appreciative of
Michelle’s hard work and time spent organising this huge event. We would also like to extend our thanks to those who supported the event in any way, those who helped on the day to make it a tremendous success and of course the generously of the individual attendees who bought tickets for the event and supported the raffle on the day."
The CFNCRF has two fundraising events planned over the coming weeks:
1. A Rum and Gin night in the Winehouse - Trim on Fri 29th September 7pm
2. A Mad Hatters - Tea - Party in the Diocesan Hall Trim on Sun 15th October 4pm
