Death of Fianna Fail's Dan O'Connell

The late Dan O'Connell.

The death occurred last evening of Dan O’Connell of Ashbourne, Fianna Fail’s chief strategist in the county.

He was Fianna Fail’s chief organiser for many years and oversaw many elections for the party. He had been ill for some years.

The Dundalk native lived at Castle Park, Ashbourne. Sympathy is extended to his wife, Olive, daughters Aileen and Róisín, sons Domhnall and Eamonn, sisters, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Siobhán.
