Get your claws into Tayto Park's new exhibit

Visitors to Tayto Park can now get up close and personal with eagles, owls, vultures and falcons at its 'World of Raptors' exhibit that has just opened.

The theme park and zoo's new open air seating arena holds 450 people who have the opportunity to see birds of prey from all over the world take part in a free-flying demonstration.

There are now twenty rare birds of prey in the zoo for the exhibit and visitors can experience the whizz of wind as an eagle or falcon flies by.

They can also see aerial displays featuring the world's largest birds of prey and learn all about these majestic species with educational talks from the Birds of Prey team.

The exhibit is the first of its kind in Ireland and cost €750,000 to build.

'Working with raptors is a very special job and we're lucky to get to share our work with everyone that visits', the Birds of Prey team said.

'We build strong relationships with the birds during training so it's amazing getting to see them grow and express natural behaviours just as they would do in the wild.'

'World of Raptors' is now open at Tayto Park with falconry displays and educational talks taking place twice every day. For more information and opening hours visit www.taytopark.ie/theme-park/world-of-raptors
