Boy (8) injured in Navan accident now stable

The eight-year-old boy who was knocked down in Navan yesterday afternoon is now stable.

The boy, who is from the Windtown area, was initially taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with serious injuries. He was later transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital where his condition is described as stable and showing signs of improvement.

The accident occurred at 3.05pm close to the junction of the Kells Road and the Inner Relief Road in Navan.

It is understood the boy was crossing the road when he was struck by a car travelling from the Kells direction.
