Bike week events across county

Meath Local Sports Partnership, in association with the Department of Transport, is supporting a number of activities for Bike Week 2017 from 10th to 18th June. Bike Week is a cross-community effort to highlight cycling as a fun, cost effective and healthy way to travel. There are a number of initiatives taking place during bike week in Meath which are open to all.
On Saturday 10th June, Inspiration Cycling Club in Dunboyne is holding a Greenway Cycle starting from Dunboyne. On Sunday 11th June, there will be a High Nelly spin to the bog with refreshments; starting at Old Convent School, Athboy, at 4.30pm. There will also be a Family Fun Cycle with 8km and 12km spins from Cormeen at 4pm. On Monday 12th June, there will be 5km and 7km spins with junior obstacle course and skills at Bohermeen Community Centre, 7.30pm. On Tuesday 13th June, there will be a Bike repair evening (High Nelly’s) at Old Convent School, Athboy. On Wednesday 14th June, there are a number of events taking place around the county. There will be a Bring a Friend – Boogie Buddy’s event in Moynalty village at 7.30pm. This is a leisurely cycle for new and improving cyclists – adults only. Navan Educate Together are holding a Greenway Cycle starting in Navan. Boyerstown NS are holding a Bike Fest where they will cycle to school. On Thursday 15th June, An Inclusive Cycling Festival is taking place at Fairyhouse Racecourse at 5pm. On this day there will also be a Bike Fest in Dunboyne NS with bike handling skills and drills. A 10km/15km adult spin for novice and improving cyclists is starting from Council buildings, Railway street, Navan at 5.30pm. On Friday 16th, Scoil Cholmcille’s NS, Skryne are running a Bike Fest at 9am. On Saturday 17th June, Navan Road Club are hosting a Cyclocross event in Blackwater Park at 11am. On Sunday 18th June, there will be a 70km Solstice Dawn Cycle to Hill of Tara, starting in Moynalty at 6am.
