Ratoath College support for Britain's Got Talent sensation Leah

Leah Barniville’s amazing performance of ‘Caruso’ by Lucio Dalla on Britain's Got Talent received a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience as she sailed through to the next round. And she's been cheered on by even bigger support back home.

Leah, a second year student of Ratoath College, has created great excitement in the school, where principal, Ms Oonagh Predergast, paid tribute to her this week. “We are immensely proud of her. She is an amazing young lady.
“We were thrilled to see her so composed and mature and we are 110 per cent behind her,” she said.
The principal said that Leah had often performed at the school.
“She sings a very particular type of music that wouldn’t always appeal to younger people, but whenever she sings, she fully captures the attention of the whole school.”

“There is great excitement here, because I’ve been told she is trending number one worldwide on YouTube.
“She is a very gracious and unassuming girl with a wonderful talent.”
Leah stunned judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams and received high praise from hard-to-please, Simon Cowell, who said the classical audition was “incredible.”
“I thought that was honestly incredible and you’re 14-years old. You don’t know how good you are. A billion percent yes,” he said.
Amanda Holden described her performance as”flawless.”
Leah was accompanied to the audition by her parents and younger brother Daniel, who was brought to tears by the performance.
She started singing when she was five years old, but only began having lessons three years ago where she started singing classical music.
In England for the first time for Britain’s Got Talent, Leah brought her entire family along to watch her audition.
“I can’t stop singing, I sing when I study, when I’m brushing my teeth and when I’m trying to sleep,” she said before the audition. “It means so much to me that today goes well, I want to make my mum, dad and brother proud.”
Leah added: “It would mean so much to win, I can’t even imagine, it’d be everything I’ve wanted my whole life.”
Although Leah has performed before, the teen admitted standing on stage in front of the judges that she had done “nothing like this.”
