Bus Eireann strike to have major impact on Meath commuters

Thousands of people across Meath were having to make alternative travel arrangements today due to an indefinite all-out strike at Bus Éireann over the company's implementation of cost reduction measures without union agreement.

Bus Éireann has warned that the strike could worsen the company's financial situation, which it has described as perilous.

Iarnród Éireann this morning said some Intercity services have been affected by the dispute due to picketing.

Bus Eireann wishes to advise customers that the vast majority of services are not operating currently due to industrial action.

Drivers who commute to Dublin from Meath were offering seats in their cars in a generous attempt to help out their fellow commuters.
