Aggravated burglary at home of elderly man

Navan Gardai are investigating an aggravated burglary where an elderly man was injured yesterday evening. The frightening incident occured at the home of an 80-year-old man in Boyerstown, Navan, at around 5.40pm on 26th February.

A male entered the man's home through a window and searched through a number of rooms before being confronted by the elderly man. Superintendent Michael Devine of Navan Garda Station said an altercation occured in which the elderly man was injured. He has thanked the public for their vigilence in alerting them to the incident.

A man in his late forties was apprehended departing the scene. He was arrested and is currently being questioned in Navan Garda Station.
