Extra Trim service to Dublin southside expected

Criticism of the slashing of services going from Trim to the southside of the Dublin city on the new timetable for the 111 route has prompted Bus Eireann to look at introducing a new limited stop expressway service from Trim to Wilton Terrace.

A Bus Eireann spokesperson confirmed they are examining the feasibility of operating an additonal service from Trim to Wilton Terrace, Monday to Friday and an announcement in this regard is expected by the end of the week.

It will come as a relief to many commuters and students who were shocked to find the new 111 timetable (Athboy-Trim-Dublin) due to commence on 27th November had just one bus going to the southside of the city.

Meanwhile, the date for the introduction of the new bus service linking the villages of Kilmessan and Dunsany with Dublin for the first time in decades has finally been announced with the service commencing on 27th November.

The 109B route, which starts in Trim taking in Bective, Kilmessan, Dunsany, Dunshaughlin concluding in Dublin, was one of a number of changes announced by Bus Eireann following a review of its services along the M3 Corridor and has been widely welcomed.

The 111A Cavan-Delvin-Granard timetable also comes into effect on 27th November with connections at Delvin to Trim and Dublin.

Bus Eireann has confirmed that the introduction of the proposed XN route to serve Johnstown, has been postponed until the new year.
