Death of former Meath county manager


The death has occurred, after a long illness, of the former manager of Meath County Council, Joe Horan.
Mr Horan, who left Meath to become manager of South Dublin, lived in Rathfarnham and was a native of Arklow, Co Wicklow.  He died peacefully this morning at St James’ Hospital.
Mr Horan is survived by his wife, Geraldine (nee Heaslip); family, Kevin, Gerry, and David; daughters-in-law, Moya and Tracy, grandchildren Kitty, Roisín and Hal, sisters Dora, Mary-Carmel and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
He will repose at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Arklow, from 5pm until 8pm on Tuesday and from 4pm on Wednesday. Removal Wednesday evening at 6.30pm to Ss Mary's & Peter’s Church, arriving at 7pm. Requiem Mass at 10am on Thursday followed by funeral to St Gabriel’s Cemetery.
