Massive €2.7m cannabis haul seized in Ashbourne

Gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force have seized cannabis herb with an estimated value of €2.7 million (analysis pending) and arrested three males during an operation in Meath today.

The discovery was made when detectives searched a number of vehicles in Ashbourne shortly after 3pm. Three males aged 58, 41 & 35 were arrested as part of the investigation. They are currently detained at Ashbourne and Finglas Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. (They can be detained for up to 7 days.)

Today's operation is part of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal activity in the Dublin and Meath regions.
