Adams to launch 1916 and 1981 commemorations in Rath Chairn

Cumann Shinn Féin Ráth Chairn is organising an Irish language weekend of activities to commemorate The Easter 1916 Rising and 1981 Hunger Strike.
The Commemoration will take place in Ráth Chairn from tonight, Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October.
The commemoration will begin tonight in Club Ráth Cairn when Gerry Adams, Uachtarán Shinn Féin will conduct the official opening at 8pm.
Afterwards there will be a night of music, dancing and singing.
On Saturday at 10am,  Liah Ní Riada, MEP will chair a session to commemorate the 1916 Rising. Mícheál Mac Donncha, Aengus Ó Snodaigh, TD and Cllr Maria O’Kane will be guest speakers.
After lunch there will be a guided tour of Tlachtgha at2 pm.
At 3pm on Saturday, Peadar Tóibín, TD will chair a session to commemorate the 1981 Hunger Strike.
Former Blanketmen Eoghan Mac Cormaic, Jake Jackson, Séanna Walsh and Dr Lawrence Mc Keown will be guest speakers.
On Saturday night at 9pm there will be music, dancing and singing.
The National Vellums will be on display as well as exhibitions on the 1981 Hunger Strike and 1916.
