Oristown NS teacher one of Ballyjamesduff dead

A teacher in Oristown National School was one of the five members of the one family who died today in their home in Ballyjamesduff.
Clodagh Hawe was a teacher in the Meath school, while her husband, Alan was a teacher in Castlerahan National School outside Ballyjamesduff where the couple’s sons Niall and Ryan were pupils. Their eldest son, Liam was a past pupil of Castlerahan.  
Gardaí are investigating the discovery of the bodies of the damily of five at their home at Oakdene, Barconey this morning .
The Gardai say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths.
Ann O’Kelly Lynch, Principal Oristown National School said they learned this afternoon of the death of their colleague, Clodagh Hawe.
“This is a terrible tragedy for the families, schools and the communities involved.
“Our sympathies and thoughts are with Clodagh’s family and friends.
“Clodagh was a much loved and valued teacher in our school and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”  
Ms O’Kelly Lynch said that psychologists from the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) have been providing support and advice to them.
“We would ask you to respect our privacy at this time,” she said.
Ann Foley principal at Castlerahan National School said “We are deeply saddened by this event. Our sympathy and our thoughts are with the extended family and friends.”
“Alan was a valued member of our school staff and community. Niall and Ryan were pupils in our school and Liam was a past pupil. They were wonderful children who will be greatly missed by all who knew them.
“Our school has implemented our Critical Incident Management Plan.
“Psychologists from the NEPS have visited the school and are supporting and advising our teachers in their efforts to assist our students in dealing with this tragic event.
“The school will be open to parents to support them and to offer them advice and guidance.”
She also asked for privacy at this time.
