Generali Supporting the Ubuntu Challenge

This November, a group of 12 Generali colleagues from Navan are embarking on a week’s trip to Ghana to take part in an ‘Ubuntu challenge’ to see and understand more about the workings of one of Generali’s fund partners (Alquity) in rural Ghana in Western Africa. It centres on a three day and night home stay with a local family, alongside a number of learning and development activities and programmes.

The Ubuntu Challengers are holding a fashion show in the Navan Rugby Club on Friday, August 19th to raise funds for Afrikids – one of the key charities supported by Alquity in Ghana. Afrikids is a child rights organisation working in northern Ghana to alleviate acute child suffering and poverty. 100% of the funds raised on the night will go directly to the charity.

All 17 models taking part in the fashion show work in Generali Link, Generali PanEurope, and Generali Worldwide and are based in our Navan office. Local businesses involved are Ribbon Rouge, Hummingbird, Ebony in Trim, McKenna Man, Carraig Donn, and Pamela Scott.

We are having a monster raffle on the night with prizes kindly sponsored by local businesses including the Knightsbrook Hotel Spa and Golf Resort, Johnstown House Hotel, Dunboyne Castle Hotel, Tankardstown House, Veg Out, McKenna Man, and many more.

Limited numbers of tickets are on sale for €15.00 and are available by emailingGL.Ubuntu@generali.com or calling 087-7838842.
