Is someone in Meath sitting on a €500,000 winning Lotto ticket?

While a  lucky married couple from Meath are celebrating last week's €90,000 Lotto win, staff at Pat's Supermarket in Laytown, where the ticket was bought, are still wonderfing about the identity of the customer who bought a €500,000 winning ticket in the shop on 4th June.

Loren Boshell said they believe last week's €90,411  Lotto Match 5 + Bonus winner is local, but they believe that the €500,000 winner may have been a day tripper to the beach who has forgotten they bought a lottery ticket that day.

There were three Lotto Match 5 + Bonus winners for the main Lotto draw last Saturday, with all three ticket holders sharing a prize of €90,411. The other winning tickets were sold in Cork and Kilkenny.

The delighted couple who wish to keep their win private, bought their winning ticket at  Boshell's incredibly lucky supermarket where the  €500,000 Lotto Plus 1 jackpot winning ticket was sold on Saturday 4th June.Loren Boshell points out that there are just eight weeks left for the winner of the half million to claim their prize.

'It was a sunny bank holiday weekend and there were a lot of visitors and day triippers and we believe it wasn’t a local winner,' he said. The shop is expecting to sell quite a lot of lottery tickets this weekend as the old saying goes 'everything comes in threes.'
