WANTED: Extras to star in horror film being shot in Athboy

ARE you an aspiring actor looking to make your big screen break? Are you available to step in front of the cameras this July in Athboy? Are you ok with the sight of blood?

Independent feature-length horror ‘Red Room’ is set to begin shooting early next month. ‘Red Room’ marks Deep Web Films’ horror debut and is set to be the final chapter of director Stephen Gaffney’s deep web trilogy – a collection of indie films which delve into the darkest corners of the world wide web.

The story tells of Kyra, Alison, and Lily; three girls snatched off the streets and taken to an isolated location. There they await their turn to enter the ‘Red Room’. The trio must attempt to escape their sadistic captors in this gory and suspenseful ode to cult classics such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Switchblade Romance.

Starring Amy Kelly (Red Rock), John D’alessandro (Class A, Cardboard Gangsters), Brian Fortune (Savage, Game of Thrones), and Eddie Jackson (Game of Thrones,Normal) ‘Red Room’ will commence principal photography on 9th July in Frankville House, Athboy and take seven days to complete before production concludes in Dublin.

“We’re looking for two males to help us with the shoot, says director Stephen Gaffney who co-wrote the script with Erica Keegan.
“Anyone interested can get in touch via our RedRoomFilms Facebook page where they can message us and no previous acting experience is required.

There may be a few lines to be spoken but that’s yet to be finalised.”
Frankville House was an old convent house and more recently a B&B owned and managed by Deg and Josie Geraghty.

“We wanted a location that was a bit isolated and suitable for filming and Frankville House suited those needs” says Stephen who adds that ‘Red Room’ is due to be released in 2017 to film festivals before general distribution.

Red Room is Deep Web Films’ first feature to have financial backing and promises to be a horror film like no other made before.
