Deane new Mayor of Navan

Cllr Francis Deane was elected the new Mayor of  Navan Municipal District this morning.
The independent councillor was elected unopposed at the district council’s annual meeting.
The outgoing Mayor, Sinn Fein’s Cllr Joe Reilly has been elected Deputy Mayor.
Tributes were paid to Cllr Reilly for his work over the past year.
The new Mayor said his priorities for the coming year included the delivery of the €12 million enhancement for Navan Town which will transform the streetscape as well as tackling homelessness.
He said another project close to his heart was the greenway from Navan to Wilkinstown.
