Major blaze at Navan pub

Four units of Meath Fire Service battled a blaze that caused extensive damage to the Flower Hill Lodge pub in Navan in the early hours of this morning.

The alarm was raised at around 3.20am this morning and the premises was well ablaze as firefighters arrived on the scene.

Two units from Navan Fire Service and units from Trim and Kells attended the scene and a hydraulic platform was also used.

Flower Hill was closed to traffic throughout the morning but re-opened in the past hour.

The fire was brought under control by 7am and by about 10am it had been extinguished.
