Mixed weather expected for bank holiday weekend

The bank holiday weekend weather looks like being a mixed bag, with showers and sunny spells expected.

Expect scattered showers at first this evening in Leinster but bright and sunny spells too, according to Met Eireann. The showers will die away later and the night will be mainly dry with skies clearing, leading to llows of zero to +3 Degrees Celsius, with ground frost developing as winds decrease.

Saturday will start mainly dry with sunshine. Scattered showers will develop late in the morning and for the afternoon, with the odd heavy shower possible, but there will be further spells of sunshine as well. Highs of 10 to 12 Celsius, in light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, meteorologists predict.

Sunday will start off mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain but it will brighten up with a mix of sunny periods and some showers for the afternoon. Expected highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.
Another band of rain will cross the country on Sunday night but will clear the east coast on Monday morning with showers following for the rest of the day, some heavy.

It will become windy with fresh and gusty westerly winds and highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.
