Funeral of Josephine Downey in Slane tomorrow

The funeral takes place tomorrow of Josephine Downey, of the well-known Slane family. Her sons include the former IFA president, Eddie Downey, and horse trainer, Pat.

She died peacefully at her residence at Monknewtown. Wife of the late Patrick, she is survived by family, Marése (Bell), Eddie, Josefa, Pat and Ian, sister Ita Hoey, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, her beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Removal takes place today, Friday, from her residence, at 6.30pm to arrive in St Patrick's Church, Slane for 7pm. Funeral mass is on Saturday at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Erc's Cemetery, Slane.
