Josh Farrell, Seanan Fisher and Aoibhe Fisher launch the National Pancake Party.

It's Pancake Tuesday - have a party for children's hospital

Josh Farrell, Seanán Fisher and Aoibhe Fisher helped kick off the annual National Pancake Party in aid of the National Children's Hospital. The delicious and enjoyable party campaign runs to Friday 12th February, with the main event on Pancake Tuesday, 9th February.

The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght is asking the public to enjoy their pancakes this year in aid of a worthy cause. By hosting a Pancake Party you can help The National Children’s Hospital to raise vital funds needed to support over 65,000 sick children from all over Ireland who attend the hospital each year.

Speaking about the campaign, Head of Communications and Fundraising at The National Children’s Hospital, Lillian Mc Govern said: “The Pancake Party campaign is a major fundraising drive for us each year. It’s a time when we ask the public to support us by holding fun pancake parties anywhere and everywhere - home, schools, sports clubs or offices. We rely heavily on support such as this and generous donations to allow us to give children from around the country the best possible care, nothing less than they deserve.

Lillian continued: “All money raised from this year’s campaign go towards equipment and supports for the children and their families. Whether it’s a substantial donation to fund a new state of the art X-Ray machine, or a smaller donation to fund some crayons and colouring books whilst waiting for test results, all donations will make a huge difference to The National Children’s Hospital. A hospital stay can be a frightening and unsettling experience for anyone but especially for children and that is why The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght is raising money this February to help every child that comes through its doors.”

Hosting a Pancake Party is so easy; you can make your own or buy some and invite your family, friends, work colleagues, neighbours, or classmates. By hosting a Pancake Party at home, in school or at work you can help to give sick children the support and care they deserve while helping their families, not to mention enjoying a fun and delicious activity.
